Early Computing in Brazil

This working page will be managed by our Brazilian colleague, Ana Paula Gaspar. She will work in Portuguese so please jump in and offer an English translation (or any other translation) if you feel competent.

Although educational computing emerged a little later in Brazil than it did in the United States, many individuals, schools and universities have caught up with or surpassed the accomplishments of the rest of the world. Ana will help us tell the story that unfolded in Brazil. She is in contact with pioneers who were instrumental in this growth and in steering national educational policy in her country. Watch this page for the raw interviews, photos, documents and essays she collects. From here we will enter items into the HCLE catalog and digital archive and then incorporate them into exhibits.
